The slaughter continues for the winter productions at Aniplex: after NieR: Automata and Ayakashi Triangle, it’s the turn of season 2 of the anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy to go on hiatus, with the postponement of its episode 7 and the following at a later date still undetermined.
Like the series mentioned above, the main reason given to justify the interruption of the project is none other than the impact of COVID on the production schedule. Consequently, episodes 1 to 6 of this second season will be rebroadcast in Japan from next Saturday, February 18.
As a reminder, Shin Oonuma holds the position of chief director of the series at the animation studio SILVER LINK. Masafumi Tamura is directing while Jin Tanaka is writing the script. Kazuyuki Yamayoshi is credited for the character design and Ryosuke Naya is the sound director. Keiji Inai composes the music and Eda Keiichi does the 3D. The group Lenny code fiction performs the song “SEIEN” for the opening and singer-songwriter Momosumomosu performs the song “ESOA” for the ending.
The anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy is adapted from the light novel Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha, written by Shuu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma, published in Japan in March 2018 by publisher KADOKAWA. In France, the first season of the series can be found in full on Crunchyroll.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2 Synopsis
Following 2000 years of ceaseless conflict, the demon lord Anos, capable of destroying humanity, the elementals, and even the gods, has just been reincarnated.
Longing for peace, the world he now finds himself in seems too used to it, however, and its inhabitants are all terribly weak.
Anos, therefore, decides to enroll in the Mahou Academy, a special establishment dedicated to finding the reincarnation of the Demon Lord. However, due to his powers being far too strong for this world, the members of the academy fail to judge him correctly and therefore classify him as a weak person, a “non-existent student”.
Helped by Misha, the only kind person with him, Anos decides to climb the hierarchy of demons in order to regain his former title!
